Patients during their care pathway encounter multiple healthcare providers each with their own background and understanding of their role in providing safe quality healthcare. Harmonizing such differences through interprofessional education and practice ensures a common understanding among professionals of what constitutes safe quality care. In addition, such a strategy facilitates role clarification, open communication, and effective teamwork, all factors that enhance patient safety.

 

Therefore, the SPSC-WHocc in Patient Safety Policies and Strategies organized an online seminar entitled "Patient Safety through Professional Education" in collaboration with WHOcc in Patient Safety Interprofessional Education- Egypt to present the concept and related framework that can be applied to patient safety both on educational and practice levels within the context of medication safety.
