Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC)
Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC)
Because we believe that the patient is a partner in improving health care and that patients are part of society, and in line with the general trend in health towards making health care person-centered, the Patients and Family Advisory Council was launched at the Saudi Patient Safety Center (SPSC), to act as a link between the Saudi Patient Safety Center and community members. The work of the Patients and Family Advisory Council focuses on improving patient safety by engaging and empowering patients and coming up with recommendations and solutions to improve patient safety in the Kingdom.
The scope of the Patient and family Advisory Council in SPSC:

Offer
program or material ideas that can be developed and assist in making improvements to some health care procedures and services that contribute to preventing harm and eliminating medical errors.
Integration of beneficiaries' perspectives into the design of strategies and policies

Share Your Story
Share Your Story Patient
stories are an essential aspect of improving patient safety and the overall quality of the healthcare system. The stories shared by patients can provide valuable insights into the strengths and weaknesses of the healthcare system. For example, if patients are experiencing long wait times or difficulty accessing care, these stories can help identify the root cause of the problem and guide solutions to improve patient experience. Additionally, patient stories can highlight instances where patients have received exceptional care, providing a source of inspiration and encouragement for healthcare providers.
Sharing patient stories can also lead to increased patient engagement, as patients become more involved in their care and treatment. When patients are encouraged to share their stories, they feel heard and valued, which can lead to better health outcomes. Patients who feel listened to are more likely to adhere to their treatment plans and engage in healthy behaviors.
Furthermore, patient stories can serve as a reminder to healthcare providers of the impact of their work. When healthcare providers hear directly from patients about the impact of their care, it can motivate them to continue providing high-quality care and to strive for continuous improvement.
In conclusion, sharing patient stories is a wonderful and necessary aspect of improving the healthcare system. By providing insights into patient experiences and encouraging patient engagement, patient stories can lead to better patient outcomes and overall improvements in the quality of care provided. Healthcare providers, policymakers, and patients alike should all prioritize the sharing of patient stories as a means of improving the healthcare system.
