On the Occasion of World Patient Safety Day 2026, “A Safe Journey Throughout Life” Event Promotes Patient Safety Awareness and Quality of Life

The Saudi Patient Safety Center, in collaboration with Sports Boulevard, NUPCO, and Al Riyadh Club, is organising the “A Safe Journey Throughout Life” event in conjunction with World Patient Safety Day 2026, which is observed this year under the theme “Safe Care for Non-communicable Diseases.” The event aims to enhance community awareness of the importance of preventing non-communicable diseases, promote healthy lifestyles, and emphasise the role of individuals, families, and communities in reducing the health risks associated with these diseases. This contributes to improving quality of life and strengthening patient safety throughout every stage of the healthcare journey. The event is being held in recognition of non-communicable diseases as among the world’s most significant health challenges and the need for continuous, integrated care that focuses on prevention, early detection, and access to appropriate health services, ensuring safer care that responds to patients’ needs. The “A Safe Journey Throughout Life” event will feature a range of sports, physical, interactive, and health-information activities. These have been designed to provide members of the community with a simple and direct awareness experience, introduce practices that support the prevention of non-communicable diseases, and encourage participation in decisions related to their health and care. The event highlights the importance of integrated efforts across sectors and national entities through the partnership between the Saudi Patient Safety Center, Sports Boulevard, NUPCO, and Al Riyadh Club. It reflects the shared belief that patient safety is a collective responsibility and a priority requiring the cooperation of all stakeholders—from individuals and families to healthcare providers, government entities, the private sector, and community institutions.
