About Volunteering
One of the highest forms of cooperation between people is volunteering and helping others, where volunteering is characterized by the love for good and benefit to others, sensing the importance of cohesion and cooperation among human beings. This is what Islam called for and wished for by giving us the good of others and supporting each other to realize the importance of solidarity. As profit Muhammed Said: “The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with insomnia and fever”.
Volunteering is a key pillar in promoting community participation that provides the opportunity to employ human potentials for the public interest, thus achieving sustainable development for any society. Therefore, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's interest came in the empowerment of volunteers as reflected in the Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020, which targets for increasing the number of volunteers. Therefore, the Saudi Patient Safety Center called for the launch of the volunteering program, contributing to the activation of volunteerism in the healthcare field for health practitioners, individuals, and community of all specialties in order to achieve the vision of the Saudi Patient Safety Center.
