The Saudi Patient Safety Center (SPSC) is implementing the national project to measure and enhance the patient safety culture in hospitals through the survey tool of The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). As this questionnaire is reliable and provides a detailed analysis of patient safety culture and is widely used around the world, it has been applied in more than 93 countries around the world.
The SPSC launched the National Project for Measuring and Enhancing Patient Safety Culture in Hospitals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in July 2017 and continues to do so on a yearly basis. One of the center's mandates is to measure and monitor the perceived patient safety culture among health practitioners in health facilities throughout the Kingdom in order to study and analyze it and make the necessary improvements and recommendations to ensure a positive culture that reflects on patient safety and is in accordance with international standard ratios.
This database will serve as an important reference in the Kingdom, allowing participating hospitals to obtain statistical comparisons and detailed reports on a local and international level, right down to comparisons with national and international standard ratios (National/International Benchmark), among other significant benefits.
SPSC is pleased to announce today the launch of the fourth cycle of the national project to measure and improve the culture of patient safety in hospitals within its fourth cycle for 2022, which will last for 8 weeks starting today, January 16, 2022.
